President's Message

I trust everyone is enjoying getting on the ice and playing a game we hold dear. As we are in the middle of the Christmas break I would like to remind all teams that the season will resume the weekend of January 8th. Please keep in mind that we have players of all abilities, we encourage everyone to play fair, and that we are a recreational league (competitive but recreational). No one wishes to see someone get hurt or turned off the game because of an experience they had playing in the NAWRA league.

Our goal is to allow as many teams / players enjoy ringette and encourage other teams to join NAWRA by speaking of the quality teams and players we already have playing in our league. The more the league grows, the greater the variety of teams we get to play against. It would be great for women of all ages and calibre to have a place to play in our league.

The league faced a challenging start to the season this year with technical problems getting teams registered with NAWRA and thus Ringette Alberta just being the start of it. As a result the Executive is looking at new ways of improving communication and getting the necessary information to the respective executive member by the deadlines more efficiently. We hope these changes will make things go much smoother for the remainder of this year and definitely the following seasons. Please stayed tuned for more information.

We wish you all the best for 2010.
Monique Laurin
