COVID-19 Policy

NAWRA does not have a specific COVID-19 related policy and is using NAWRA’s variance policy to implement the mandatory vaccination requirement. NAWRA Policies and Bylaws can be viewed here.

As per Ringette Alberta guidelines, leagues are able to implement stricter measures than those outlined under the Restriction Exemption Program. As such the NAWRA executive has implemented a Mandatory Vaccination requirement. All teams were required to submit a vaccination form in October of 2021. Any subs playing need to be at least double vaccinated which is considered to be 14 days after the second dose. Please refer to the Ringette Alberta Covid-19 Page for further clarification.

The Executive Director of Ringette Alberta, David Myers, emailed an update on January 5th 2022 regarding COVID-19 and the remainder of the season. Included in the email is the Isolation Period and Return to Ringette paragraph. Even though the Government of Alberta has reduced the quarantine/self-isolation period from 10 to 5 days, Ringette Alberta players are required to isolate for 10 days away from ringette activities because you cannot wear a mask during physical activity. In summary, any player under NAWRA must isolate away from ringette for 10 days prior to returning.

If there are any further questions regarding COVID-19, please contact the NAWRA Safety Officer.
